Read, in the name of your Lord, who created.*

بخوان به اسم پروردگارت که خلق کرد.
[96:2]
He created man from an embryo.
(۹۶:۲)
او انسان را از نطفهای خلق کرد.
[96:3]
Read, and your Lord, Most Exalted.
(۹۶:۳)
بخوان، و پروردگارت، بلندمرتبهترین.
[96:4]
Teaches by means of the pen.
(۹۶:۴)
به وسیله قلم می‌آموزد.
[96:5]
He teaches man what he never knew.
(۹۶:۵)
او به انسان می‌آموزد آنچه را که هرگز نمی‌دانست.
[96:6]
Indeed, the human transgresses.
(۹۶:۶)
به درستی که انسان متجاوز می‌شود.
[96:7]
When he becomes rich.
(۹۶:۷)
هنگامی که ثروتمند می‌شود.
[96:8]
To your Lord is the ultimate destiny.
(۹۶:۸)
سرنوشت نهایی به سوی پروردگارت است.
[96:9]
Have you seen the one who enjoins.
(۹۶:۹)
آیا دیدهای کسی را که منع می‌کند.
[96:10]
Others from praying?
(۹۶:۱۰)
دیگران را از دعا کردن؟
[96:11]
Is it not better for him to follow the guidance?
(۹۶:۱۱)
آیا بهتر نیست که از هدایت پیروی کند؟
[96:12]
Or advocate righteousness?
(۹۶:۱۲)
یا پرهیزکاری را حمایت کند؟
[96:13]
If he disbelieves and turns away.
(۹۶:۱۳)
اگر او ایمان نیاورد و روی بگرداند.
[96:14]
Does he not realize that GOD sees?
(۹۶:۱۴)
آیا او درک نمی‌کند که خدا می‌بیند؟
[96:15]
Indeed, unless he refrains, we will take him by the forelock.
(۹۶:۱۵)
به درستی که اگر او باز نایستد، ما او را به موهای جلوی سرش خواهیم کشید.
[96:16]
A forelock that is disbelieving and sinful.
(۹۶:۱۶)
موی جلوی سری که بی ایمان است و گناهکار.
[96:17]
Let him then call on his helpers.
(۹۶:۱۷)
بگذار آنوقت یاران خود را صدا کند.
[96:18]
We will call the guardians of Hell.
(۹۶:۱۸)
ما نگهبانان جهنم را صدا خواهیم کرد.
[96:19]
You shall not obey him; you shall fall prostrate and draw nearer.
(۹۶:۱۹)
نباید از او اطاعت کنی؛ باید سجده کنی و نزدیکتر شوی.
